Here is Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chair, boasting about Obama’s handling of the economy:
Well, lets see. New unemployment applications have been over 400,000 a week for 17 weeks. More than seven million Americans have been pink slipped since March. That is 1,600,000 pink slips every four weeks against 48,000 new jobs every four weeks.
The IRS says that an average American family’s income in 2009 fell to $54,283, down $3,516 from 2008, but the number of unemployed was so high that median family income dropped by a staggering 15.2 percent during BamBam’s first year in office, 2009.
Adjusted for inflation, median income in 2009 was the lowest it had been since 1997, when it was $54,265 in BamBam’s minibux, just $18 less than in 2009.
Oh yes, Obama is getting the economy under control all right. When 2010’s tax returns are digested you can expect a 25% drop in average family income over 2007. At a time when energy and food costs are going through the roof, and Obamanomics has put millions of home buyers “underwater.”
