FOX News reports several Republican lawmakers have written a letter to Obama’s “science czar” questioning his role in several incidents that involve scientific misconduct.
From observation, it appears to me as if Holdren is one of these “new fangled scientasters.” One who will throw out all of the data that does not agree with current political orthodoxy.
Of course, scientists have a firm rule. You must take into account all the data. You may exclude some data if you have a sound reason but you must report both the data and the reason. Perhaps someone else knows why those failed experiments that disprove your hypothesis did not work.
But you cannot pick and choose the data you use to support your theory. But Holdren has, and evidently still does.
And then there is Holdren’s long time support of eugenics, including the sterilization of those he deems “ unfit to reproduce.
Shades of the 1920’s, California, and the mass sterilization of those said to be “mentally or physically defective.
Briefly quoting the History News Network item linked immediately above:
In 1909, California became the third state to adopt such laws. Ultimately, eugenics practitioners coercively sterilized some 60,000 Americans, barred the marriage of thousands, forcibly segregated thousands in “colonies,” and persecuted untold numbers in ways we are just learning. Before World War II, nearly half of coercive sterilizations were done in California, and even after the war, the state accounted for a third of all such surgeries.
Eugenics is racism, pure and simple. And “the first post racial President” has chosen someone who proudly supports eugenics. How odd? Or not odd at all.
