Is Alzheimers A Form Of Diabetes Of The Brain?

The Dallas Morning News makes the intriguing case that Alzheimer’s Disease may be a form of diabetes. Diabetes of the brain.

Essentially, the theory is that those with Alzheimers cannot convert glucose to energy efficiently, so brain cells literally starve to death. And that is quite possibly true. There is more at the link, and more research will be needed to make sure. But we don’t know how to cure Alzheimers but we know quit a bit about controlling diabetes.
