In a bit of good news for those who like foods that taste good, an EU study says eating less salt does not cut heart disease.
Reuters gets a bit shirty when bloggers quote them, so I will let you click on the link. But the bottom line is this. The people who ate the least salt were the most likely to die during the study, those who ate the most salt the least likely to die, and those in the middle were – in the middle.
Given recent studies indicating dietary fat is good for your kidneys, I can only say one thing. I will have my popcorn with extra butter and a double helping of salt.
Which, come to think of it, is how I have always had my popcorn.
